Chico's Playboy Olena, "Playboy," came to us in 2018 as part of the 42 horse Winona Herd rescue mission. (You can read all about the Winona Herd here: Winona Herd) Playboy was one of six half brothers, all 12-year-old stallions with minimal handling. As stallions, they were housed separately in pens. None were well-socialized since they lived such solitary lives. Playboy was by far the toughest nut to crack because he held a thinly-veiled anger just under the surface. All of that melted away over time from being handled in a loving, respectful manner. Today, Playboy is very engaging and adores his humans.

In 2019 we started Playboy under saddle, but he proved to be an unreliable saddle partner.  We elected to allow him to just live out a beautiful life as a companion horse. Now at 18 years of age, Playboy lives in a large, grassy pasture with his best friend and brother, Cool, as well his constant companion, a mare named Oaklie. Playboy is quite happy with his situation. Playboy and Cool spent a few months with Gamilah Unbridled where they were taught to perform as a liberty team! So for you liberty lovers out there, these two boys will make you look like pros! Other than being a bit needle phobic, Playboy is an easy horse to care for. He loves attention and being groomed is the highlight of his day.
