Chico's I'm Just Chillin, "Cool," came to us in 2018 as part of the 42 horse Winona Herd rescue mission. (You can read all about the Winona Herd here: Winona Herd) Cool was one of six half brothers, all 12-year-old stallions with minimal handling. As stallions, they were housed separately in pens. None were well-socialized since they lived such solitary lives. Cool started off skeptical of humans but was always gentle. Once he became accustomed to daily handling, Cool became the biggest love bug.

In 2019 we did attempt to start Cool under saddle, but it made him extremely fearful, and so we elected to allow him to just live out a beautiful life as a companion horse. Now at 18 years of age, Cool lives in a large, grassy pasture with his best friend and brother, Playboy, as well as a bossy mare named Oaklie! He loves his life! Cool and Playboy spent a few months with Patrick and Avery Sullivan of Gamilah Unbridled and came back as an awesome liberty team. So for you liberty lovers out there, these boys may be just what you are looking for!

Cool is a perfect gentleman. He has excellent manners in every way. Cool does need special care in the heat of the summer because his breathing gets heavy. But no worries, because his condition is successfully controlled through medication.
